Café Society, the latest film written and directed by Woody Allen, is rolling out across Europe. This week it passed a couple of box office milestones, including $30 million.

Café Society has now earned $30,135,767 total box office worldwide.

In the US, it crossed the $11m mark, and sits on $11,000,223. although it seems $12m, or even chasing up to Allen’s next highest earner, Manhattan Murder Mystery‘s $11.3m, seems out or reach.

It remains the 7th highest earning Indie film in the US for 2016, and 1st for per theatre average (thanks Indiewire).

For the rest of the world, France leads ($7.1m) followed by Spain ($3.6m), Russia ($1.8m), Brazil ($1.4m) and UK ($1.4m).

The film opens this week in Hong Kong and Italy. In October, it will open in Australia, Germany and more. $35-$40 million is still where we are predicting the film will end up, and that seems to be on the low end.

The US distributor Lionsgate is still promoting the film.

We move into home releases, with Café Society DVDs and Blu-Rays already announced. And as usual, we close the year with award speculation. It seems there are several possibilities for this film, with Kristen Stewart leading the pack. Screenrant agrees.

After impressive turns in Clouds of Sils Maria and Still Alice, earning herself numerous awards, the actress is set for a breakout year with appearances in Café Society and Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk. In Café Society, she plays opposite Oscar nominees Jesse Eisenberg and Steve Carrell in a film penned by four-time Oscar winner Woody Allen, who has proven time and time again that he can write a script and direct a film that can really showcase a strong actor.

Vittorio Storaro cinematography and Suzy Benzinger‘s costumes also seem a chance to get an Oscar nod. We shall see!
