It’s a big week for Magic In the Moonlight, the latest film written and directed by Woody Allen. The red carpet premiere is this Thursday, and press screenings are happening now. We are starting to see more extremely positive tweets from those who have seen the film. We also have our first comments from one of the film’s stars, Marcia Gay Harden, and Emma Stone‘s and Colin Firth‘s TV appearances. Both of them will appear on Good Morning America on the 16th.

Here’s what Harden had to say to Spry Living

It’s a bucket list thing to be in a Woody Allen film, to see how he works, how he will use you.

She also mentions that she, like other characters smoke thought out the film. No release in India, then. Which is a shame because what we are hearing is very positive.

The subtext stuff makes us most excited. The trailers and summaries have been so coy. We wonder if there’s a Midnight In Paris type surprise in the film. And a big theme in the film that is yet to be revealed. Allen has full control over his trailers, and is not one to fall into the trap of giving it all away. More reviews are bound to hit in the next week or two.

The red carpet for ‘Magic In The Moonlight‘ happens 17th July. It looks like Emma Stone will be in town for it. She is scheduled to appear of The Late Show With David Letterman on the 16th and The Daily Show with John Stewart on the 17th. It also means she misses a couple of days shooting the 2015 filmColin Firth will also be in town and will stop by Letterman on the 17th.

Magic In The Moonlight‘ opens in New York and LA on 25th July. It will roll out to other cities and countries in the weeks to follow.
