Cate Blanchett has won another award for her acclaimed role in Blue Jasmine. Today, she was crowned Best Actress by the New York Film Critics Circle.

Hollywood Reporter has the full list of winners.

This bodes well for Blanchett’s Oscar chances. She is almost certainly in line for a nomination at the Academy Awards.

Blanchett’s win marks the second time that an actress has won this award on a Woody Allen film – the first was Diane Keaton in 1977 for Annie Hall.

  1. This is good news for Cate. She always does a stellar job with her film roles. This should bode well for her come Golden Globes and Oscar time. Also, it looks like Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Diane Keaton will accept Woody’s Cecil B. Demented Award on Woody’s behalf at the GG’s. Diane has still got it. From all the way back in the day to up to today, Woody has always worked with the hottest honeys :o)
