Woody Allen’s finally getting the band back together. The band, like the world, stopped their engagements with COVID, but they have now announced their first series of dates since the pandemic. Their return begins with a run of shows in Europe.
The dates announced so far are in France, Italy, Portugal and Spain.

That final date will see Allen and the band open the prestigious Barcelona Jazz Festival.
It’s been a rough road back for the band, as their band leader for many decades, Eddy Davis, passed away during the pandemic. There was word about a return to regular shows in New York, but that has yet to be announced. It remains to be seen who is in this new line up of the band.
Allen occasionally mixes his music with filming, sometimes accounting locations or even production around the times that he tours. This could suggest another European film is in the works. But more likely Allen will be in Europe to promote the release of his next film Coup de Chance.
There’s some big gaps in that touring schedule, so more shows seem likely. Stay tuned!

It’s great to hear Woody is planning another European tour. The Maestro just keeps pushing the envelope of artistic performance. In between sold out shows, I too hope Woody takes a moment to jot down a few creative ideas for another screenplay or collection of short stories.
GO WOODY!!!!!
I was at the Woody Allen concert yesterday, a disaster. He is no longer able to play the clarinet, only noise. I felt very bad for him, the whole audience was embarrassed by this “performance”. It was very hard to see him. Do not buy tickets as you will be very disappointed.
