Café Society is the new film written and directed by Woody Allen. It is out now in France, and will start its US theatrical run on 15th July. We have lots of new images from the new film from various sources. A new dump of publicity images, fashion photos from Chanel and critics responses from France.

The new publicity shots feature Steve Carell, Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart. We also get a glimpse of Woody Allen favourite and Sopranos star Tony Sirico.

New images also come from Fashion Magazine. Chanel provided clothes for the film, and the spoke to Allen’s regular costume designer Suzy Benzinger (she first worked with Allen on 1994’s Don’t Drink the Water) about how that worked.

I couldn’t really design this film and not address Chanel. In the 20th century, Chanel was the epitome of style, luxury and glamour. If I was to portray Café Society properly I would have to use Chanel. It is a vital part of history.

I was lucky that Chanel also agreed to bring back pieces of jewellery inspired by ones Gabrielle Chanel had designed at the time and that were so influential in the 1930s. The gorgeous simplicity of Chanel’s dresses were canvasses to showcase her jewellery. The job was simple to me, put an elegant but simple dress on an actress, accessorize with a Chanel brooche or earrings and I had instant glamour. That’s the genius of Coco Chanel!

Images feature Eisenberg and Stewart, along with Blake Lively and Parker Posey.

Finally, the film is out now in France, and French distributor Mars Films has a whole bunch of new images highlighting the critical acclaim received by the film.

Café Society hits the US on 15th July 2016.
