The Bullets Over Broadway musical has won three Outer Critics Circle Awards this week. The awards, in their 64th year, are voted by theatre critics who cover Broadway but are not in New York City.

The three ‘Bullets…‘ awards are:

Outstanding Costume Design – William Ivey Long

Outstanding Featured Actor In A Musical – Nick Cordero

Outstanding Featured Actress In A Musical – Marin Mazzie

That’s three from four nominations, with Susan Stroman missing out on Outstanding Choreographer to Warren Carlyle (‘After Midnight‘). Fantastic news for Mazzie in particular, as she missed out on even a nomination for the Tony Awards. It also bodes well for Cordero’s and Long’s Tonys chances.

Bill Berloni recieved a Special Achievement Award for his work with animals on Broadway. He rescued and trained Trixie, who is currently starring in ‘Bullets…‘.

The award ceremony will be held on 22 May at the Sardis Restaurant in New York City. Broadway World has a list of all the winners.

Congratulations to Berloni, Cordero, Long and Mazzie!

The cast of ‘Bullets…‘ has been working hard doing more press which we will round up this weekend.
