Woody Allen’s Amazon Series To Shoot In New York, Casting Begins

Woody Allen surprised the world last year when he announced he was making a series for online giant Amazon. We’ve had very little details since about the 2016 Amazon Series. We now have details that the series will shoot in New York and casting has begun. Showbiz 411 has the scoop.

Shooting begins in New York in March. The shoot will go for six weeks and there will be six episodes.

The casting call is for supporting players. The details we have are ” a young Jack Lemmon type and a group of Miss Marple types”.

We’re looking for the original casting notice. If you see it please let us know.

But exciting news! With filming in March (into April) , we would likely see the series premiere in late 2016. And March is just next month, we are bound to hear more details soon. Allen did make rumblings about starring in the series himself.

It also means that Allen is free in summer for production on a 2017 film, as well as his usual New York jazz gigs will be uninterrupted.

With casting that means a lot of details are locked – like plot and characters. We can’t wait to hear more.
