MELINDA AND MELINDA Filming Locations – New York City

Who knows who knew at the time, but Melinda And Melinda would be Allen’s last film in New York and the US for several years. It’s once again modern day, and Allen mixes in a couple of gorgeous tourist locations in with impossibly beautiful apartments no one could afford.

9th Avenue and Little W. 12th Street

The restaurant that bookends out story. Its’s now gone.

87 Crosby St, Soho

The outside of Lee and Laurel’s.

131 Prince St, Soho

The interior of Lee and Laurel’s apartment, a different location from the exterior.

112 East 91st Street.

Susan and Hobie’s apartment. We assume the interiors match.

Travers Fine Jewelers
962 Madison Avenue.

Laurel and Cassie meet in front of this store.

Café Boulud
20 East 76th Street

Laurel and Cassie walk from the previous location to this cafe.

Bow Bridge, Central Park

Cassie, Laurel and Melinda together. Allen also used this bridge in Café Society, and the lake they walk over in Manhattan.

Prince and Mott Street

Filming scene, Susan at work.

Café Gitane
Mott Street

From the last scene, Susan has coffee with a friend.

Belmont Park
2150 Hempstead Turnpike, Elmont.

Used in both stories, Melinda is taken there by Hobie and Lee.

Greenwich House Music School
46 Barrow St

Lee surprises Laurel at her work. We later see her inside a classroom.

55 Dune Road, Long Island

Greg’s home in Long Island. There is a scene where everyone drives along Dune Road. We also assume they used the beach nearby for a quick scene.

Lennox Hill Hospital
100 East 77th St

The short hospital scene.

The Town Hall
123 West 43rd St

Joe Allen
326 West 46th St

Lee’s job. We see him after he gets fired.

322 West 45th Street

The music studio. At least it is from the outside. It’s now gone.

Il Buco
47 Bond Street

Romantic restaurant.

John Jay Park
FDR Drive, cnr E 76th St

Hobie and Walt play basketball.

Archangel Antiques
334 E 9th St

Hobie buys a gift. Now gone.

15 East 90th Street.

Melinda finds the piano.

East 12th Street

  1. Wallace Shawn should be in every one of Woody’s movies. Back in the day his father was the number one guy at The New Yorker. Admittedly, I don’t watch M&M as often as I should, but when I do watch it, I’m glad I did. Woody and his entire team did a fine job with this picture.
