A casting notice has gone out for extras to appear in the upcoming 2016 film written and directed by Woody Allen. The star studded affair features Steve Carell, Jesse Eisenberg, Blake Lively, Kristen Stewart, Corey Stoll and many more.

The casting call is to be an extra in background scenes to be filmed in New York, where the production will move in early September (they are currently filming in LA). The scenes will be shot from 14th-17th September.

Kee Casting are handling the extras, and you need to register with them. They have been working on casting in US based Allen films since The Curse Of the Jade Scorpion, as well as the John Turturro‘s Fading Gigolo, which starred Allen. Registration details here.

SET IN 1935 LA AND NYC
We have very specific requirement for who we cast

WOMEN:
all colors of hair- NO highlights?Hair can be chin length ( with a few exceptions shorter) and no longer than touching the shoulders..NO LONG HAIR. We are very serious about this. You can not show up at a fitting with LONG HAIR. It’s not acceptable.
For the most part women will need to be on the small size.?Please know your correct measurements. Many of the ?clothes for our pretty young women have to have smallish busts?and waists. All the costumes run smaller than today!! We are sure you all know that. We can not fit very short women or very tall women.
There will be some character type older women and will have some larger sizes.. hair must be same as notes above.

MEN:
All have to agree to a haircut. You need to have enough hair to cut so don’t do any haircuts now. It’s not extreme but no sideburns
Mustaches are okay but must be willing to have mustache shaped?for the period.
No other facial hair allowed, sorry.
Please know your sizes including hat, glove.
Lots of Tuxedos( can not wear your own) and they are a very slim waist silhouette?If you have own dress shoes, patent leather great.
Will have some larger sizes for some character types. Generally men have to be average heights. The clothes do not work for men over 6’1 or 6’2
There are some multiple day scenes but people will be switched out as the days progress.
I often hear from men that you won’t have haircut for one days work. I understand and am sorry if we won’t be able to use you. There will be lots of single day scenes.
TATTOOS- nothing visible for men or women. Women can not have any on arms, upper back or legs.

For those who don’t (or can’t) be in the film, there’s some cool things to learn here. One is the tuxedos and nice dresses – there’s some old Hollywood glamour afoot. 1935 is definitely the year, and it seems as though New York will be a setting as well as LA.

Filming continues on the new film, with less public filming in recent days. We assume the cast have been filming interiors or in studios.
