Bullets Over Broadway, sadly, didn’t pick up any awards at the 68th Tony Awards. But the cast and crew were part of the proceedings, including a fantastic live performance.

That performance came towards the end of the show, wit Nick Cordero leadings his tap dancing gangsters through ‘Tain’t Nobody’s Biz-ness If I Do‘. We also saw a glimpse at one of the Atta Girls in full ‘Tiger Rag‘ attire.

The performance was introduced by Zach Braff.

Braff brought his dad along to the show. He’s said many times that his dad loves muscials and Woody Allen.

Along with Cordero and Braff, many others were in attendance. Susan Stroman was on hand and seen on camera several times. Brooks Ashmanskas, Vincent Pastore and Karen Ziemba were also there to celebrate Broadway. Pastore appeared in Hugh Jackman‘s opening sketch. Costume designer William Ivey Long was also there.

As well as Jackman (who worked with Allen on Scoop), some other Allen alumni appeared, including Patricia Clarkson (Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Whatever Works) and Harvey Fierstein (the film version of Bullets Over Broadway).

As we utterly expected, Allen himself did not turn up to the awards ceremony.

It was a very exciting night for Broadway, which is certainly going through a golden period. We echo the sentiments of going to New York (or London, or Chicago, etc) to go see a show!
