We’ve been revisiting Allen’s first burst of London films. It all began with Match Point, a massive turning point in Allen’s career, and our video this week is an interview with the primary cast – Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Scarlett Johansson, Emily Mortimer, Matthew Goode and Brian Cox – as well as Woody Allen himself.

It seems like typical cast interview stuff – everyone else is amazing – but Allen’s great as usual. He reveals how much luck played a role in the film. And it’s interesting to see how different actors reacted to Allen’s particular production style.

It does seem that there was a special magic on the set. If Allen’s first non-American funded and produced film was a disaster, his career would have been very different.
