VICKY CRISTINA BARCELONA Filming Locations – Barcelona, Oviedo, Spain, New York

Allen has always loved Spain – but who hasn’t? Yet, it took him many decades to finally make a film there. When he did, he crafted a story far away from the skyscrapers and fancy apartments of his other films. Released in 2008, Vicky Cristina Barcelona was unique in Allen’s extensive catalogue of films. Many of his London films were just rewritten New York ideas. Here, he makes a story just for Spain.

Allen used two cities for his story – Barcelona and Oviedo. And like his journeys to Paris or Rome, there’s plenty of tourism highlights mixed in with the romance. There is also just a little of his beloved New York City.

There are LOTS of locations we don’t know. Most notably – Juan Antonio’s house or Judy’s house. A lot of action and scenes happen in those two locations. If you know Barcelona well, and can pick any of them out, please let us know.
