With less than two weeks to go until they release the new Woody Allen film Blue Jasmine, Sony Pictures Classics has released a new clip featuring comedian Louis C.K. They also held a series of press screenings throughout the US (Boston, Philadelphia, etc) and we’ve rounded up more initial reactions as we wait for fuller reviews.
Vulture has the exclusive clip, featuring Louis CK (playing Al) and Sally Hawkins (Ginger) by Ocean Beach in San Francisco.
The clip doesn’t give away much. It’s insight into the film’s other story, the one about Hawkin’s journey.
The press reaction continues to be wildly positive, with the focus again being on Cate Blanchett, but there’s also praise for Andrew Dice Clay and Michael Stuhlbarg.
Loved LOVED Woody Allen's BLUE JASMINE.

Cate Blanchett is riveting in BLUE JASMINE. Great supporting cast, as well. One of Woody Allen's darkest films in years.

Most of the laffs in BLUE JASMINE come from the few dental office scenes w/Michael Stuhlberg, a horny, lecherous dentist. #ASeriousMan
— KDR (@kdringg) July 15, 2013
Blue Jasmine: Allen's darkest comedy since Husbands and Wives, ferocious turn by Blanchett who plays to the nosebleed seats. #BlueJasmine
