Production Begins On John Turturro’s ‘Fading Gigolo’ In NYC, Starring Woody Allen

This week saw production begin on ‘Fading Gigolo‘, a film written, directed and starring John Turturro. The film also stars Woody Allen, in a rare acting role in a film he’s not written and directed himself.

Fading Gigolo‘ has been described by Turturro as a tender, sweet comedy about an aging gigilo (Turturro) and his best friend who is acting as his pimp (Allen). We’ve covered it previously.

Allen was spotted in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Also around were two Hasidic Jews, suggesting good old fashioned Jewish humour will be involved. DNA Info has a good gallery of pics and a write up.

Allen, Turturro and Vanessa Paradis were all spotted in NYC filming. http://baunerreon.com.br has a nice small gallery.

Finally, Allen and Turturro filmed in La Petite Coquette, a lingerie store in Manhattan. Allen signed a photo for the staff, and it’s on their Facebook page.

It’s been a busy year so far for Woody Allen, having wrapped his 2013 drama last month, he is straight onto his next project. We are not sure how long production for ‘Fading Gigolo‘ will last, but we assume Allen would not get involved in an extremely long shoot.

We will be sure to bring you any and all production information when we get it.
